Insurance Services Disability

The following Short-Term Disability Plans are provided to townships through Aetna Insurance. These plans provide a disability income benefit for up to 35 weeks of disability. Benefits begin on the first day if the disability is the result of an injury and the eighth day if the disability is the result of sickness (unless you are hospital confined due to sickness, then disability begins the first day.)

Townships can either select Plan A, Plan B, or Plan C.

Plan A

Will pay you $165 per week of disability unless you are hospital confined. If you are hospital confined, the weekly benefit will be increased to $248 per week.

Plan B (Employee must work 30 hours per week.)

Will pay you $250 per week of disability unless you are hospital confine. If you are hospital confined, the weekly benefit will be increased to $375 per week.

Plan C (Employee must work 30 hours per week.)

Will pay you 60% of earnings to a maximum of $600 per week of disability.

Note: Benefits are payable for non-occupational injuries or sicknesses.
